2 The first rule is the default preset rule that allows devices connected to any port to
manage the ES-305 and freely exchange data. Do the following to modify the first rule to
allow devices connected to the LAN 3 and 4 ports to communicate with one another and
manage the ES-305.
" Make sure you set this rule up correctly! If you configure the ES-305 so that no
ports are on the management VLAN, you cannot access it and will have to
reset it to its factory default settings.
• Ensure that the Enable box is selected and 1 is entered in the VID field.
• Select X in the LAN 1, 2 and WA N columns. Leave the other columns at Untag.
3 Do the following to configure the second rule to allow devices connected to the LAN 1
port to access the Internet through the WA N port.
• Select the Enable box, and enter 600 in the VID field.
• Select Untag in the rule’s P1 column (there are no VLAN-aware switches on that part
of the network).
